Maria Belen Chapur (born in 1966) is an Argentine Journalist, Translator, Correspondent, and Politician Partner from Palermo, Buenos Aires. In 2009, she became extremely infamous for being the mistress of Mark Sanford (American politician and author).
He remained the Governor of South Carolina from 2003 to 2011 and also served as a former member of the U.S. House of Representatives. From 1995 to 2001, Sanford worked as the U.S. Representative for South Carolina’s 1st congressional district.
